The purpose is to invite the rail industry to pull together in changing how we deliver infrastructure by applying the principles of SPEED. The ambition is to establish a community that is invested in ensuring success across the rail sector which will ultimately lead to increased confidence in and efficiency of rail investment. The conference will set out the ambition of Rail Project SPEED – halving the time and slashing the cost of rail project delivery – and what this means for us all and how we need to work collectively as a rail industry.
The Conference seeks to connect suppliers, secure engagement from the supply chain on their efforts to improve ways of working and accelerate rail infrastructure projects. Its focus will be on establishing a community that is engaged with Rail Project SPEED and invested in ensuring its success across the rail sector.
It will be the first in a series of events over the coming year.
What is Rail Project SPEED?
Network Rail’s ‘Swift, Pragmatic and Efficient Enhancement Delivery’ (SPEED) being delivered in collaboration with the Department for Transport (DfT), will accelerate rail infrastructure schemes – finding ways to halve the time and slash the cost’ of project delivery. Rail Project SPEED is demonstrating how enhancement projects can be delivered more quickly by using live projects to test how delivery can be improved.
