The Railway Industry Association (RIA) is pleased to announce that Lord Peter Hendy CBE, who Chairs Network Rail, has been confirmed as a keynote speaker for the RIA Annual Conference 2024, which this year takes place on 6- 7 November, at the Leonardo Royal Hotel, London Tower Bridge. He will give his address at the Dinner on Day 1, 6 November.
Lord Hendy has a wealth of knowledge and experience at Network Rail as well as being former Transport for London Commissioner, in which he oversaw the successful operation of London’s transport for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
This year, the RIA Annual Conference focuses on the theme ‘A fresh start for rail?’, and, following this summer’s General Election, is sure to cover the most salient issues of the day impacting the railway industry.
RIA Marketing & Events Director, Grace Smithen, commented: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Lord Peter Hendy as this year’s keynote speaker at the RIA Annual Conference 2024. He is a titan of industry and a leading voice of the rail sector, both at Network Rail currently and as it is set to transition to a new organisation in the coming months.
“RIA members, the wider rail supply industry, and the railway industry at large will want to hear Lord Hendy’s views of where UK rail stands post-election and on the threshold of major potential changes. And with the event open to all with an interest in the railways, we encourage early booking to secure a place at the Conference & Dinner now!”
