RIA Scotland champions rail suppliers across the nation, working to ensure that the industry plays a central role in Scotland’s economic and environmental ambitions. Rail in Scotland supports 56,000 jobs, contributes £3.1bn in GVA, and delivers £1bn in tax revenue to the economy.
RIA Scotland works closely with the Scottish Government, Transport Scotland, Scotland’s Railway (ScotRail and Network Rail), and Members of the Scottish Parliament to represent suppliers’ interests.
The Scottish rail industry is at the forefront of the decarbonisation agenda, with commitments to electrification and low-carbon technologies, alongside ambitions for improved passenger and freight services. By providing a strong collective voice, RIA Scotland helps ensure that rail investment contributes to economic growth, connectivity, and a just transition to net zero.
