Rail Electrification: Rebuilding Confidence

Rail Electrification: Rebuilding Confidence
Institution of Mechanical Engineers, London
05 June 2019

Developed jointly with RIA and Institution of Mechanical Engineers, this seminar will reflect on recent rail electrification experiences to identify lessons learned, explore what electrification should cost and discuss how the industry and government can regain their confidence in electrification being the first consideration in any move to decarbonise the railway by 2040.

Address the cost and engineering issues being faced by the industry, and how these are being managed by operators and contractors alike. Hear lessons learned from implementation projects to take back to your organisation, including an exclusive review from Network Rail.

This year RIA will lead Unlocking Innovation Elevator Pitch session focusing on:

1. Reducing Electrification Costs
2. Delivering Electrification More Effectively

Unlocking innovation is a series of one-day events featuring the important topics, such as Materials, Automation, Data and Energy with new programmes planned in leading areas.

If you are interested in delivering a 3-minute pitch at the event and present your innovative product or service, please send a short paragraph summarising the presentation to milda.manomaityte@riagb.org.uk.
