Join the next Electrification TIG meeting hosted by the National College for High Speed Rail at their Doncaster campus on 22 October. The meeting will start at 10:00 finish around 14:00 with a networking lunch in between the sessions.

Network Rail's Senior Strategic Planner Steven Hart will give an update on the Traction Decarbonisation Network Strategy programme. John Morris, PhD Researcher at Newcastle University will update the group about the GEL/9 - Railway Electrotechnical Applications standards. Two speakers, well known to many RIA Members, will deliver complementary presentations on efficient electrification techniques. Firstly Peter Dearman will share his experience and observations of the plant used in recent electrification projects. What electrification plant delivers the best productivity and in what circumstances? Trains or Road Railers? Discuss – we will! Richard Stainton of Network Rail will share how NR are applying the lessons learnt from CP5 electrification projects including the RIA Electrification Cost Challenge report. Richard will show how these lessons are being factored into a strategy to enable the efficient delivery of the rolling programme of electrification in Scotland where the Scottish Government have recently confirmed their intention to decarbonise by Scottish Railways by 2035 supported by further electrification.
