Some of you will have attended the Roundtable meeting held with DfT Permanent Secretary Bernadette Kelly last October and Bernadette has agreed to repeat the event on 22 October 2019.
We expect the session to begin with a buffet lunch at 13:30, with the roundtable commencing at 14:00 and concluding around 15:30. The event is likely to be in theatre style and adopt the same format as before - ie a brief introduction and an update on current key DfT issues from Bernadette followed by a moderated Q&A session. It will be subject to the Chatham House Rule and we propose to do a headline note of proceedings as before.
Amongst the key issues (not exhaustive) we would expect to be raised are:
• Williams Review
• Boom & Bust in Renewals and slow start to CP6
• Lack of a comprehensive enhancements pipeline
• Brexit implications
• SME issues
• Electrification/decarbonisation
This is a further most welcome opportunity for the supply chain constructively to air its issues with, and, importantly, suggest solutions to, the most senior civil servant in the DfT.
