NRIL welcomes Northern Powerhouse Partnership HS2 review

A new report by Northern Powerhouse Partnership has highlighted the importance of HS2 to the region.
Mike Hulme and Justin Moss, Co-Chairs of Northern Rail Industry Leaders, said: “We welcome this new evidence showing the benefits of HS2 to the North of England. As the Review demonstrates, HS2 will be transformational to communities in the region, potentially delivering £1,000 billion in economic growth and creating tens of thousands of jobs in key Northern cities like Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool.
“Northern Rail Industry Leaders (NRIL), which represents rail businesses across the North, urges the Oakervee Review into HS2 to take this new research – and the jobs, investment and economic growth the project will deliver – under consideration as it looks to publish its recommendations in the coming months.”
