Turner & Townsend and Mace Dragados join as partner sponsors for the inaugural Advance TRS Golf Day for Rail Aid

29 July 2021| RailAid

Advance TRS are delighted to announce that Turner & Townsend and Mace Dragados have been confirmed as partner sponsors for the first ever Advance TRS Golf Day for Rail Aid.

This year Railway Children and Advance TRS have teamed up to create the first annual Charity Golf Day at the prestigious Belfry Hotel & Resort. This day brings together industry leaders for some healthy competition, networking and most importantly to raise money for the Rail Aid campaign.

Rail Aid
Advance TRS and Railway People are working together to run this prestigious golfing fixture for the rail calendar. With opportunities for fundraising reduced, yet the need for funding increased by the pandemic, this event provides the perfect opportunity for the industry to come together to raise much needed money for the Railway Children's Rail Aid campaign.

As the world starts to recover from Covid-19, its aftermath is pushing more children than ever into dangerous situations and causing an increase in isolation, trafficking, grooming, starvation and abuse. Extra stress on families already at breaking point became unbearable during the pandemic, making young people even more vulnerable to grooming, exploitation by drugs gangs and mental health trauma.

"As a longtime supporter of Railway Children and having visited some of their projects, I have seen first-hand the impact intervention from the charity can have on children's lives." explains Advance TRS Founder and Managing Director, Andy Ridout.

"I wanted to bring industry leaders together in a way that was safe, fun and could raise a substantial amount of money for the charity. All proceeds from the Golf Day go directly to Rail Aid and to helping children in need."

Support from industry leaders

Teams will play the Ryder Cup Brabazon Course at the Belfry followed by a three-course networking dinner, keynote speaker and a silent auction draw for Rail Aid.

The event has already seen incredible support from the industry with confirmed attendees including Aecom, Telent, Thales, Lowery and JCDecaux UK. Most notably, Mark Thurston CEO of HS2 wholeheartedly  supports the event and will be attending the day.

"HS2 is the Railway for future generations, while providing thousands of employment opportunities for young people in its design and construction. The Rail Aid campaign and the work of Railway Children has our full support at HS2 and I look forward to supporting this at the Advance Rail Aid Golf Day at the Belfry" says Mark.

"With the industry coming together to support Rail Aid, Please join us. I look forward to seeing many of you there in October."

In addition to the high-level executive attendees, the confirmed prizes already donated set this event up to be a must-attend. A real highlight has been the gifting of two four-balls at the JCB Golf and Country Club to play with the Managing Directors of JCB and Torrent Track Side.

"We intend for this Advance TRS Charity Golf Day in support of Rail Aid to be an annual event which will grow with every year running. Attending the first of these prestigious events as a guest or sponsor will not only mean you are directly supporting some of the world's most vulnerable children, but will also give you a taste of what our future Golf Days will be like." explains Railway Children Corporate Partnerships Manager, Dave Ellis.

Don't miss out

There are still plenty of opportunities to get involved with the day by sponsoring the event. This is a great way to cement your brand awareness and recognition in front of influential guests as a sponsor for the first Advance TRS annual Charity Golf Day. With the potential for displaying company literature and your logo being featured on banners, signage and event promotions on websites and social media channels, a talking point is created to initiate valuable conversations.

All the proceeds from the Golf Day, including sponsorships, go straight to Rail Aid to help those children in need. If you or your business can sponsor an element of the day, or would just like to make a one-off donation, please get in touch. Every bit counts and helps us get closer to our fundraising total! In order to raise money for Rail Aid, there will be a silent charity auction open to bids throughout the day and we need your help to make it a success. If you know anyone who can offer an auction prize, please get in touch, every prize helps! If you are planning to attend the event, please bring your deep pockets and be prepared to give generously! It's all for a good cause!

Sponsorship options start from £1,000 and range from sponsoring a hole to beat the pro, longest drive, nearest the pin, to drinks reception sponsor or sponsoring merchandise for the golfers. If you are interested in supporting the event please contact Ella Gardiner, Marketing & Development Manager, Advance TRS on 01483 361061 or email marketing@advance-trs.com for more information and to discuss available opportunities.
