29 January 2019
Transport Systems Catapult, Milton Keynes
Following our very successful UIS ‘Data in Rail’ event earlier this month, RIA is pleased to team up once again with Transport Systems Catapult to present, at their offices in Milton Keynes, one of our regular IMG meetings with a clear focus on systems and information in Rail.
We will be hearing from
Andy Letts, Technical Head of Discipline – Telecoms at Network Rail
about his plans to use information to build a single virtual team for every project, crossing departmental boundaries and working much more efficiently. This is an exciting initiative and one we are sure RIA members will be keen to hear about.
As our host,
Steve Quantick of TSC
will be giving us an overview of TSC’s work across transport modes. All their (funded) projects are open to Rail companies to get involved, so this is worth knowing about.
Head of TSC’s Data Group Eifion Jenkins
will be talking more specifically about projects involving data, including the modelloing and simulation capabilities Eifion and his team have built up at TSC over the last 5 years.
Tim Wood, Head of Architecture at Rail Delivery Group
(RDG) will be focusing on the overall rail cyber security strategy, the priorities and what needs to be done, and highlighting where there’s engagement with the supply chain – starting the conversation on how we can best collaborate around this. This is a great opportunity to be in at the start of this collaboration.
George Bearfield, Director of Health and Safety at Rock Rail
has been doing a lot of research around covering Safety and Security in one unified approach and has agreed to share his thinking with us. Given the issues with Cyber Security then this is a very timely idea and we at RIA are keen to hear from George on this.
Please note registrations close on 28 January at 10:00.
