The recently-published North East Rail & Metro Strategy presents numerous opportunities for the rail supply chain. The overarching vision of the plan is “Moving to a green, healthy, dynamic and thriving North East” which will be achieved through 5 key objectives: Carbon-neutral transport, Overcome inequality and grow the regions economy, a healthier North East, appealing and sustainable transport choices and a Safe and secure network. These objectives offer a number of opportunities for the rail supply community both locally, regionally and nationally.
We invite you to this event to hear about the strategy from our keynote speaker, Derek Gittens – Head of Heavy Rail at Transport North East, as well as from Hitachi, UKRRIN and our RIA North Decarbonisation and Value for Money workstream leads.
